Hakka’s Cultural Festival 2017

The Hakka’s culture Fest will be held at Balik Pulau, Penang. It is a one of its kind in Penang featuring the tradition of Hakkas, in relation to the myth of the “Nu Guo”. The Hakkas offer prayers and goodies to the goddess on the 20th day of the 1st month of the lunar calendar. It is on this “Sky-Patched Day” that the Hakkas refrain from working, which is depicted by the Hakka Saying of “Men don’t plow and neither women do weave on the Sky-Patched Day”.
